Crostoni goat cheese, ham and caramelized figs with Brancaia Chianti Classico

CROSTONI WITH GOAT CHEESE, HAM AND CARAMELIZED FIGS 

An appetizer, a simple and quick bruschetta, to pair with our Brancaia Chianti Classico. Born as a tribute to our territory, this pure Sangiovese and aged only in cement and steel show a pleasant freshness in the mouth with firm and young tannins that balance the enveloping softness of the goat cheese, the crunchiness of the bruschetta and the unique combination that comes from the union of figs and ham. 

INGREDIENTS (for 4 people) 

  • 4 slices homemade bread  
  • 4 figs  
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar  
  • 80 grams fresh goat cheese  
  • 8 slices raw ham  
  • salt  
  • extra virgin olive oil  

PREPARATION 

First, prepare the bread : if the slices are large, cut them in half (or into 4 parts, as we prefer) and fry them in a pan with a little oil and salt, or in the oven to bruschetta . 

To caramelize the figs , after having washed them, dried them and cut them in half and then in half again or in 3 , put them in a non-stick pan and add the sugar. 5 minutes on medium heat will be enough, stirring occasionally. 

Spread a little goat cheese on each bruschetta and place a slice of raw ham and the figs on top. 

SUGGESTION 

Instead of bread, you can also try a nice schiacciata or white pizza as the base of the ingredients.
